Hi listers
Trying to track down some family relatives or someone else researching Nobles in Broadsea.
My Nobles are as follows:
Wilson Noble 1881-1956 & Rachael Grant Cardno 1879-1958 Alexander Noble 1858-1924 & Elizabeth Noble 1860-1918 Alexander Noble "Cockie" 1833-1909 & Elizabeth Crawford 1842-1885 Walter Noble 1794-1868 & Margaret Noble 1802 -1841/51 Gilbert Noble 1767- ?? & Ann Crawford 1773 - ??
I was born in Fraserburgh, but emigrated with my parents, when the "Wilson Noble boatbuilding busines" (owned by my grandfather closed down in 1959)
Would love to hear from anyone with connections or knowledge of the above.
Regards
Maureen

Sorry, The death Cert was all that I had. I thought that the ship master would have interested you. I have many in my ancestry involved with boats and sailing including myself. Ann is related too me on my Shand side. Her father, William Shand was my Grgr grand Uncle Happy Hunting ndpaton

My great grandmother was a Noble of Broadsea descent.
She was Margaret Bell Noble (1892-1934).
Her parents: Dougal Noble (1855-1896) & Jessie S. Noble (c.1855-1900).
Dougal's parents: Dougal Noble (c.1827-1879) & Ann Noble (1832-1903).
Dougal's parents: George Noble (b.1788) & Barbara Whyte (c.1793-1866)
George was the son of Andrew Noble (d.1790) and Helen Lascelles (c.1760-1840). Helen is 'Granny Lascelles' in the 'Christian Watt Papers'.
How reliable are the papers as a source? They go onto claim that 'Granny Lascelles' mother was the illegitimate daughter of John Gordon and Jean Crawford. John Gordon was the son of John Gordon of Kinellar and Henrietta Fraser, daughter of 12th Lord Saltoun of Abernethy. I have done a small amount of research. The papers claim that Helen Lascelles' mother (Jane Gordon/Crawford) was left 20 pounds in the will of her father. Having viewed John Gordon's will, there is mention of his natural daughter being left 20 pounds. So some of the claims can be proven.
I believe John Gordon is buried in his family vault, a converted chapel which stands in the grounds of the old Kirktoun.
So what do we think?

Hi there new to the board as you will see!
I know the original post is from 2005 but hey you never know!
Started my tree late last year and have got a lot of names but not much info.
Anyway I have a John Noble, born around 1827, from the Broch who married a Albina Buchan, born 1834.
This couple are my Great Great Great Grandparents, but as I say do not know if they fit in with information you have. If they do I would love to know more.
Thanks
