Dear Anne,
You have two old Eckington families there, the Marples lived mostly at the top end of Eckington {it's on a hill} and still do today, I remember as a teenager in the 60s having a fight with "spudder" Marples who lived up there, he's still around.
Anyway I'll do as you request.

  David.

Hello David:
Thank you very much for your help, I really appreciate it.  Thanks for the 1841 census information on the Marples.  I was looking over the Barker information that I have so far last night. And guess what when I looked at the 1841 census information for George and Hannah Barker I just noticed that the last person mention is a James Marples (the one you have listed) so I think that this is more proof that Hannah's maiden name is Marples.   I wonder if the Henry Marples age 55 could be Hannah's father?? Going to do some checking on the Joseph Marples family you have listed.  I find it really interesting that you would know someone with the surname Marples.

Did you win the fight??

Thanks again

Hello Tuppie:

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! I really appreciate you sending me this information.  I am pretty sure this is the right Hannah Marples the birth year works out to the year on the census records. But I will have to do more research on this to be sure.

Also thank you for the Innocent baptisms. The Amelia Innocent is my line.  You have certainly given me lots to work with.

Thanks again.

i'm going to have another look in Eckington registers and also Staveley, if they lived at the top end of Eckington they would be midway between the two.

Anne

Just had a quick look at the Staveley marriages on Jayne McHugh's site

http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~spire/staveley/

but nothing there I'm afraid.

Hello David and Ian:
Thank you both very much for taking the time to look for my Barker marriage. I really appreciate it. Guess this is going to be my new brick wall !!! I was sure the would have married in the area as the lived all their lives in Eckington.

Will have to come up with some new ideas.  Wonder if they could have been married in Chesterfield??

Thanks again

I'll have a look, they usually married in the Wifes parish but as they both appear to come from Eckington that does'nt seem to be the case Huh

David

If you are looking for Barkers in Chesterfield could you also keep your eyes open for my Hannah Barker who I believe was born in Stonegravels in 1809 the daughter of Francis Barker and Catherine Buck. They married in Chesterfield in Feb 1802.

Hannah married George Harrison in Dronfield in 1826 and went on to raise a large family in Middle Handley.

Thanks
