I'm new to this board so if I'm poking my nose in then my apologies. I have no evidence of the Barker- Marples marriage that you're looking for, if your Hannah Marples is the daughter of Henry & Sarah Marples, then I've got her family and ancestry if you're intrested.

hello Pigletpal:
welcome to the board.  Yes, My Hannah Marples is the daughter of Henry and Sarah Marples.  I have just started to research Hannah family so have not got much beyond who her parents are and I think I have found a brother.   Any information would be very welcome.

Cheers

Hello Anne

I think the first thing I should mention is that I;m not related to Hannah. I'll be very happy to let you have a GEDCOM of Hannah's family, if you could first let me know how you related to Hannah. Can the GECCOM be sent through here?

Kind regards

Hello Anne

Certainly! I've been at this game for over 30 years or so, so waiting a few days is neither here or there!

Kind regards

Hi Ann

I have been trying to determine which parishes have been checked for a marriage, and I have come up with Staveley, Eckington, St Mary's Chesterfield and Sheffield St Peters, are you keeping a tally and if so are there any others that have been checked. I have also checked Eckington and Norton St James.

I'll check Rotherham All Saints on Thursday, along with Beighton St Mary's.

The others I suggest are Dronfield St John the Baptist, Killamarsh St Giles.

Do you have a copy of the parish map for Derbyshire?

hello Tuppie:
I do not have a parish map of Derbyshire.  Do you know of a website I can check?

I also did a double check on Eckington and no luck. But have found the baptism's of their children and also I got a very big surprise when checking the marriage I came across a Joseph Barker ( son of George Barker) marrying a Sarah Crossland who father was a John Crossland.  The wittness were Eliza and Samuel White.  Eliz who is the daughter of George and sister to Joseph.  The surprise was the Crossland name as I have a grgrgandfather names Jim Crossland who father is John and Jim had a sister named Sarah.  So decided to tack Joseph and Sarah and I found out that this Sarah was indeed a sister to my Jim.  I must say it explains why my great grandmother was living with Elizabeth Bacon in Eckington on the 1871 census.  Elizabeth is another sister to Joseph and Eliza.

You just never know what is going to turn in when you start looking. ...  I Still have not come up the a marriage yet.

thank you very much for looking for me  I really appreciate it.

Cheers
