Hi
Parish registers are registers of baptisms (Christenings), marriages and burials for each particular church (parish).
The locations of these would depend entirely upon which church/town/village is of interest to you and what particular event you are looking for in what period of time.
Somebody may be able to point you in the right direction if you can enlighten us as to what event(s) you are hoping to find.
Best wishes

Hi Copies of parish registers for Wallasey are held at the Cheshire record office you could inquire by email at this link http://www.cheshire.gov.uk/Recordoffice/aboutus/recoffcontact.htm One the problems with this approach is that it could a long and costly search, unless your in the area and do it yourself. The entry in a parish registry is unlikely to tell you any more than a birth certificate, unless the mother was unwed and then you may get details of the father.
A lot of Wirral parish records have been transcribed and a database is available online at http://www.csc.liv.ac.uk/~cprdb/
If the birth is after 1837 then try the Cheshire BMD website it is now complete up to 1900. http://www.cheshirebmd.org.uk/
If you are having difficulties tracing a birth we could probably help, why not give us a name plus parents and district details and we will have a go.

Hi Hilary The parish records indexes that I have are only up to 1837. they are only indexes and therefore do not give full details. You will need to purchase BMD certificates. You would need to search the General BMD index at the records office or online at https://www.1837online.com/Trace2web/index.html Once you have found the marriage of your parents you need then to find and purchase the birth certificates, I would recommend you start by finding your fathers line. Please get back to me if you need any further help, and please list all the family details you know of. Are the Davies family, your family and what relation are they. Because we seem to be dealing with fairly recent events in terms of family history you need to make sure that you have the permission of any living relative to put their name on the net. peterbennett

Davies .Father Ernest Samuel Davies , Mother Winifred Davies nee Gascoyne. They lived at 167 Mount Pleasant Road Wallasey untill1951.Wendy would have been born 1926 - 1940. Before 1926/9 They lived at 12 Rocklands avenue , Bebbington - cum Bromborough. Hilary

Hi Hilary
Have you checked the https://www.1837online.com/Trace2web/index.html
If yes and you still havn't found her try checking again under a differant spelling (Davis) or was she born a Gascoyne ?
I am afraid we are all limited to this index when searching online.
good luck

Hi Hilary seeing that this topic is about B.M.D records i will use this one . All the B.M.D indexes for wallasey are in book form in the library, very handy. I had a quick look at it but i don't know how recent the indexes are.I will be going to the library this week. Would you like me to have a look for the birth and marriage reference number for Wendy Davies so you can send for the certificates. And the death one for Winifred cant remember the year you settled on.It must be on the other topic. If you want me to do this post on this board
Birth Wendy Davies approx year Marriage of same Approx year Death of Winifred Davies then year.
P.S Davies is a common name i noticed there a a few burials in Christ church Barnston in Wirral.Would any of your family be buried there?

Hilary One question at a time please . I think peter and others have answered most of your questions. I asked you some time ago what was you location.By location it means .Surrey England.or Perth Australia, not you address. You location is sometimes needed to advise on where you can go.Some things as said ,you have to do yourself.until you reach a certain year like 1910.There are no late records available because those people will or might be still living. The records you want wont be freely available for another forty years To find Births,Marriages,or Deaths. for the years you want. You have go to the reference library as i said before.and look through the fiches if you haven't done this before there will be help on hand . It will take some time and a few visits, but that is what doing your family tree is all about. So what is your location please.
