PALING surname in 18th Century
« on: Monday 27 June 05 15:24 BST (UK) »

I am trying to trace the baptism of my 4x Great Grandfather, George PALING & his marriage to a Mary.

George & Mary lived in Weston, Lincs where they had 10 children, the first in 1779, but I cannot find their marriage nor George's baptism.

Although the Paling surname is relatively common in Lincolnshire in the 19th century they seem to have vanished into thin air in the 18th. I can only presume my George & Mary came from across a county border & the Paling family originated in another county. But which one?

Does anyone have any record/s of a Paling marriage in c1778? Or a George Paling baptism in c1750 who may be my illusive direct ancestor? If so, I would love to hear from them.

Thank you.

Regards

Brenda
