Hi Everybody,

i've just been given details about my Gt Gt Nans Parents, unfortunately we cant make out her Fathers place of birth...

It looks like : Penwick  !!

Is there such a place in Worcestershire, or any other suggestions as to what it may read...

there is a Pendock in Twekesbury which includes part of Worchestershire.

Darcy is right, Pendock is due west of Tewkesbury, just on the border of Worcestershire and Gloucestershire - a small village these days still.

Find it near junction 2 of the M50

The person who gave me the details off the 1851 census is trying to find him on the 1841.....and he's not showing under Pendock.

Just looked at my Gt Gt Nans Marraige Certificate.

She was born in Berrow, Worcestershire.

The marraige took place in the Parish of Berrow
County of Worcester
Reg District Upton upon Severn.


Does that help anymore.

PEDMORE, PENDOCK, PENSAX, PEOPLETON, PERSHORE HOLY CROSS, PERSHORE SAINT ANDREW, PINVIN, PIRTON, POWICK thats the lot beginig with P.

Here are all the ones ending with ICK

KENSWICK, KNIGHTWICK, POWICK, WICK.

Thanks alot for that Phil.

As yet i still have'nt managed to find which place it was.
The person who sent me the census image has tried looking for John James on the 1841 census under various birth places.....but cant find him.
The image for 1851 is quite clear until you come to read where he's actually from........something, Worcestershire.
