My 'lot' were in the main originally from Chilmark, one time described by the local vicar as 'The World capital of Macey's' In addition to 'mine' I have collected quite a few bits of info about those that I have so far been unable to claim. Would like to hear from anyone with similar interests and would be willing rto share what I have

I know I haveseen a Charity before but not in 'my line'. Strangley though I do have amore recent connection with the family name Nash when a one Violet Macey married a Frederick Wood circa 1900, Fred Wood's mothers maden name was Eliza Nash.born 1850 Castle Cary, Somerset.
I will try to look up other records to finf Charity... MODERATOR COMMENT:email address removed to avoid spam. Please use personal message system to share email addresses. Thank You

Hi Robert I had a look in Fisherton Delamere and Anger but could not find a baptism for Charity Macey. I found her marriage to James Naish, 23 May 1808 and also the Nash/Naish family. Hope this is new ground.............
Marriage at Fish Del 3 Sep 1782 John Naish and Elizabeth Penny witnesses John Morgan and Thomas Tapper
Baptisms at Fish Del all chidren of John and Betty Nash 18 Dec 1782 James Knaish , 9 weeks old (BT Nash) 9 May 1784 Jane Nash 26 Jul 1789 Betty Nash 27 Feb 1791 Sarah Nash 29 Apr 1798 Frances Naish
Also a Fish Del marriage May 1779 Joseph Macey and Sarah Patient, witnesses John Morgan Senior and Junior
Hope this helps, cheers Dave

Hi
The Macey family tree mentions a Maria Polden (1833 ?), who is thought to have gone to Ireland. Do you know if Alfred Polden born in 1822 in Chilmark was her brother or relation?
Thanks Dom

Hi Robert Regret not able to look up John Nash at the present time. I'm on an extended visit to Spain until early December and I'm unable to get to the WSRO I've made a note of your request and if you haven't had any joy by the end of November please post a reminder. Best of luck, cheers Dave
