Firstly, apologies if this has been posted on the wrong board. New to Rootschat and would be grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction.
My gggg grandmother was Agnes Weild, she married James Blenkinsop 4th June 1814, Annan, Scotland. His name has been mis-spelt as Blenkinship. Someone was kind enought to find this out for me.
Does anyone have any of them listed on census information or details of their parents and other children?
Please could you point me in the right direction.
Regards Caroline
this is the only child listed the father is listed as William ?

I've checked the 1841 and there are no Blenkinsop's or variants - I think on other threads you know they are in Lancashire then, is that so? Sorry my mind is like a sieve.
There is one WEILD family in 1841. The head is David age 60 a draper he lives on the High St.
There is also a large WIELD family the head is William age 60 a baker he is living also on the High St.
Out of interest what is the name of the second born son? It's big in this area to follow the naming convention.
Annan is one of the few parishes that has a surviving "useful" early census.
Scotland is the same as England and Wales where the 1841 was the first named census. However there is a listing for 1801, 11 & 21. I've looked for Blenkinsop - nowt. But there are Weild's. They seem to be the same families as in 1841. Because of my source of the early census it does not tell me which of the years I am looking at so it isn't very useful.
Can you let us know Agnes and James' children in the order as you know of them - from any later census etc. That may show a naming pattern that will help look at the 1841 census.
Also what is James' occupation on later census.
Thanks, Pam

Thanks Pam for the info
I'm afraid the only info I have so far is what Barbara kindly posted earlier. I do know that James, born in 1819, was a barrister, they moved to Lancashire (married in Liverpoop) and finally ended up in Surrey with Wilhelmina. His sons were James, William with a daughter Louisa....so maybe a grandmother was Louisa if they followed a naming pattern.
Barbara said that she could only find James and no other children so I have nothing else to go on so far with his father, William. The Blenkinsops are likely to be from Lancashire, Durham area, but I've yet to find a connection. Sorry I cannot give any further infomation at this time...but I'll keep looking.
Regards Caroline
