McKIERNAN/McKERNAN - Drumkeeran area
« on: Wednesday 06 July 05 02:36 UTC (UK) »

Looking for siblings of my great grandfather, BRYAN McKIERNAN/McKERNAN, b. c. 1835. BRYAN McKIERNAN/McKERNAN married MARY CLANCY. They lived on the townland of Mullaghbawn, near Drumkeeran, in Inishmagrath RC parish. Their known children are: ALICE McKIERNAN GALLAGHER; BRIDGET McKIERNAN LYONS, CATHERINE McKIERNAN LYONS (the Lyons families mentioned have not yet been connected, at least one family is believe to be from the townland of Corduff); and JAMES McKIERNAN (aka McKERNAN in the US), born 1865. JAMES McKIERNAN/McKERNAN  is my maternal grandfather. Looking for his other siblings, in particular, any brothers he may have had. JAMES McKIERNAN/McKERNAN married ELIZABETH MULDOWNEY in Schuylkill Co., Pa. Their children were James, Bryan, Rosemary, John, Elizabeth and Martin McKERNAN. My mother was their daughter, Elizabeth.

My grandfather, JAMES McKERNAN, was naturalized in 1888, in Baltimore, Md. A John Monahan was the witness.

Would appreciate hearing from anyone with information about this family.
