McCutcheon headstone engravings Edenderry??
« on: Friday 08 July 05 18:23 UTC (UK) »

I am writing hoping that someone might be able to help me with a quest. New information leads me to believe that there is a McCutcheon gravestone(s) at the Church of Ireland Church at Edenderry and that there may just be a family connection. I wonder if anyone knows if the info from the headstones at that church have been transcribed on to the internet anywhere?Huh Or would anyone have the info or be able to get the info for me?Huh At the present time I do not know any names or dates but have been told that it is highly probable that they might be MY McCutcheon's. I do have a connection in Tyrone who is going to go there but I am not sure when she might be able to get there. Of course, having been searching for what seems an eternity to find the origins of my McCutcheon's I am very excited by this new news.

All I do know is that my Great Great Grandfather was a John McCutcheon married to a Mary McFarland. Mary is actually buried here in Canada as she was brought over by her son in 1894 and died here in 1899 at age 78 - we believe that John had probably died before she came over. Her son William, my Great Grandfather was born somewhere in Tyrone sometime between 1865 and 1875 (we have a couple of dates which have been investigated but no results). We know of only one other child, a Samuel who also came to Canada in 1887 or so with William and then disappeared "west".

I am not sure what exactly might be on the headstone(s) mentioned but possibly there will be a some clue that will show "the connection". I am hoping so.

Thanks for any help
