Hi Joe
Just happened to see this reply to day, sorry to have taken so long to acknowledge it.
I do have Alexander Grant and Jane's Cruikshank's information, they moved from Elgin to Kilminster yes with fourteen children. Yes they were married in 1/4/1821 I believe the 1820 date belongs to another Alexander Grant and Jane Criuickshank and Alexander died 1856 Jane 1868 both buried in Caithness.
The two sisters I am interested in are Margaret Jane born 1869, Isabella Ann born 1872, daughters of David Grant and Janet Mcivor( who are buried in Wick Old Cemetery without a headstone)
Thank you for the trouble of sending me the information I am very grateful.
Many thanks
Regards PinkLady

hi Joe
You are a gem, thank you so much for the census information, I was aware Jemima had been in Sutherland but no idea Isabella was also, so I have a new direction to look at.
I am truly grateful for your time and help.

Hi Joe
You certainly are a mine of information! I don't think the 1861 census information belongs to my Alex Grant/Cruikshank as he died 1856, but I will keep hold of that info in case I can connect at a later date, was William Mcivor step child living at Biggins also?
Thank you so much I do appreciate the time and effort you have made to get all this information for me.
Regards

Hi Joe
I still cannot see a connection with my grants for the 1861 census you sent me, but I am not sure where the Grants were at that time so it is valuable to me to hold on to until needed.
I thought from Jane Cruikshank's will Alexander (son)took over Reiss farm, I am not sure what Biggins is a farm a place? But you have certainly given me a lot of information to carry on with, especially william Mcivor step son intriguing!
Many thanks for this valuable information.

Hi Joe
Can this get anymore exciting? Yes Alexander Grant son married Margaret Levack 1854, 1855 magical year? I don't undererstand that wee bit. Am I being stupid?
I did have some of the children's names but not all so thank you once again for that information,
David Grant is the one I am intrigued by, him being my great great grandfather, I do have bits of family history of his siblings some who were scattered around the world and thanks to their families and you I have been to able to put pieces of the family to gether. I am so indebted.
I remain truly grateful for your help.
