Hello
here is a possible for one of your Stonehouse's

He was the only Stonehouse on this ship.
Here is a possible death for this Thomas Stonehouse
Vital Event Death Registration
Name: Thomas Stonehouse
Event Date: 1963 7 23 (Yr/Mo/Day) Age: 63 Gender: male Event Place: Vancouver Reg. Number: 1963-09-009271 B.C. Archives Microfilm Number: B13262 GSU Microfilm Number: 2033586 This death registration will contain next of kin, date and place of birth (if known), how long in the country, and this information is open to the public at no charge. However, there is a fee if you order it so I would suggest you try these options.
1. RAOGK http://raogk.com/bcolumbia.htm these are volunteers from British Columbia who will do lookups of various items including Vital Statistics and obits. Send a request for a copy of the death registeration papers above (these papers should list next of kin, place of residence, place of birth, et.) and also for an obit which should list other family members. Please send ONLY ONE request for your information or you may not receive any help (admin monitors requests and removes duplications).
2. For a quicker respose you might try this gentleman - he is usually able to assist within 2 or 3 days. http://members.shaw.ca/copies/ He charges a small fee to cover copying and parking but is very prompt and thorough.
This is likely your Mary Alice born 1876

The actual immigration passenger list will indicate where the person is planning to go and possibly who they will be living with. These records are open to the public at the following address
Where is Library and Archives Canada located?
The main public building of Library and Archives Canada is located in downtown Ottawa at:
395 Wellington Street Ottawa, ON K1A 0N4 CANADA Telephone: Library and Archives Canada - (613) 996-5115 or 1-866-578-7777 (toll free in Canada and the US) These libraries in Canada also hold copies of these immigration records -
Vancouver Cloverdale Branch, Surrey Public Library Passenger Lists: all ports, 1865-1935 (including Form 30A) Try RAOGK in BC again for this
North York Central Library: Canadiana Department (Toronto Public Library) Passenger Lists: all ports, 1865-1935 (including Form 30A) Try Raogk Ontario and/or BC for the passenger list - PLEASE remember only one request every two weeks per family name (the admin is very diligent about removing duplicates requests for similiar information)
http://raogk.com/ontario.htm
Here is a link to the information about interlibrary loans for these records if you are interested in having them sent to a library near you http://www.collectionscanada.ca/archivianet/020207_e.html
Anyway, good luck and let me know if I can assist you in any other way

Hello
If you go to the RAOGK website and find a volunteer in Toronto, Ont who lists public records look ups you can email a request for a volunteer to go to the library and access the immigration records - give them the information that I put in the prior email and they should be able to find the ship passenger records without too many problems. There is usually no charge when RAOGK volunteers help with research.
http://raogk.com/ontario.htm
There are three volunteers listed for Toronto who are able to do public record lookups or public library research.
Here is the library on Toronto where the records are held North York Central Library: Canadiana Department (Toronto Public Library) Passenger Lists: all ports, 1865-1935 (including Form 30A)
You can also go to your public library and ask them to order in the microfiche records (it may take 6 weeks or so, perhaps longer)
you will need these microfilms
for Mary, Chris G and Maggie Stonehouse Microfilm reel: T-14762
for Thomas Stonehouse Microfilm reel: T-14752
the death registeration you can easliy ask for from RAOGK in the BC link (no charge likely) or from the other site that I listed - it is only about $5 Canadian for the records which covers parking, copying and postage (might be a little more in NZ) - no credit card is needed, just mail a money order.
It may take a while but one of these options will surely help you and not cost a lot (perhaps even no charge)
Good luck
Thelma

Hi Carol
Is there a family History Center near you? Go to this site and check out the addresses. I have found them to be incredibly helpful (and I am not of their faith). http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp?PAGE=library_fhc_find.asp
If there is a site near you this is the reference from their library catalogue for the records you will want to order in. They will order them in and contact you when they come in. They should also help you figure out how to work the microfiche reader if you haven't used on before.
Title Ships' passenger lists for Canada, 1900-1922, 1925-1935 Authors Canada. Department of Immigration and Colonization (Main Author) Public Archives of Canada (Added Author)

Between 1900 and 1922, if a ship's list for a particular date is split between two microfilm reels, the name of the ship is included in the film note in this record unless the lists for a ship were refilmed completely on the next reel. For the lists between 1925 and 1935, the volume and page numbers are given. The film note also includes the National Archives of Canada (NAC) film number. ~~~~~~~~ National Archives of Canada no.: RG 76.

You will need reel numbers
for Mary, Chris G and Maggie Stonehouse Microfilm reel: T-14762
for Thomas Stonehouse Microfilm reel: T-14752
If you are not close to a Family History Center let me know. I am out of town tomorrow but Monday I could go to the library here and order in the microfilm needed for the ships lists.
Have you had any luck with the BC records for the death registration papers?
Let me know if I can help further
Sincerely
Thelma
