not sure if you are interested but in vandyke road cemetert lb there is a headstone for the following:

Charles gilbert died 03/10/1953 aged 64 + Mary ann gilbert died 30/12/1963 aged 93 years

in st. marys church, old linslade leighton buzzard there is an entry in the parish records and hedstone for this:

22/01/1797 - Susanna Gilbert - Widow - buried

yes I do have the 1841 census Gilberts, although I was unaware of this site. It will come in useful for tracing all the subsidiary lines. Thank you very much. Again, you have been helpful. I live in Sudbury in Suffolk. If you need any research this way let me know.
