"Burnderries"

Does anyone have any info relating to the "Burnderries"? I think they are connected to the McDevitt surname but in particular the burning of Derry in the 1608 rebellion.

Many thanks Charlie.

Hi Charlie,

The McDevitts who were involved in the 1608 Rebellion were referred to as "Burnderries" due to their role
in firing the town of Derry. They were connected to the O'Doherty Clan who had a family seat at Culmore.
