Question about access to Irish Wills?
« on: Sunday 10 July 05 06:30 UTC (UK) »

I have located a reference to a will I would love to access which appears to belong to my ancestor Anthony Morrison from Magherabeg, Dromore probated in 1853. The index reference was found on Ros Davies' County Down site. What I can't work out is how to access this will or is there even a will behind this reference or just an abstract. I've plowed through many different sites trying to find out how to access wills since I am not in Ireland.
Can anyone advise me about Irish Wills. I know a very large percentage of Irish wills and abstracts were destroyed in the 1922 fire. Does the presence of this reference ID confirm that something about Anthony Morrison's will still exists? And where can I get at it?
Regards,
Perplexed.
