I am searching for any information on Solomon Ingram Dawson who, according to his army papers was born in the Parish of Penryn circa 1808.

He attested to the 68th regt of foot  1st November 1826 in Davenport and states that he is 18 years old (given our ancient one's propensity to tell fibs  think I'll take that with a pinch of salt)!

He served with the 68th mostly in Canada and was discharged in Galway 1848.

In 1851 (age 43) he was here in Liverpool with his family and died here in May 1856 (age given as 40).

If anyone out there has any further info as to his parents or birth/christening or any tips as to how I can obtain it I would be eternally grateful.
