Thanks Valda, looks like my ancestor had ichy feet (must run in the family as I was a lorry driver for all my working life). I know the problems with JJ as when looking for a GRO referance, for his Birth Certificate, I came up with over 400 hits just for 1846.
You may have struck gold with Rodrick tho'. I have an entry in the 1881 census for JJ's family, living in Nantcwlle, with a Jane Jones, Widow, age 77, lodger, described as a Pauper (poor old girl). Could this be Rodrick's wife and JJ's mother? They are living at the same address as he is in the 1901 census, widower with 5 kids in tow. His wife's death must have slowed his wanderings down a bit as this is the only mention of him I have been able to come up with so far.
Once again thanks for your help.
Best wishes
Dave

Best wishes Dave Hello Raver 26,
I have only just discovered this site.
I realise this is nearly 4 years late (!) but looking at your signature we may well have a connection. A member of "my" Jones family married a Wartsky and they lived in Bethnal Green at the time of the 1901 Census.
Some of the other names you mention in your posts also tally with what I have learned thus far.
A general question please as this is my first post here.
Given that Raver 26 may well have disappeared from the site given the time lapse, is there anyway I can e mail him or my e mail address can be e mailed to him?
