my william bates married a mary timpson on 3 June 1805 Marsworth

If it's any help to you, there is a Thomas Bates born Marsworth aged 31 with family & a William Bates aged 67 on the 1851 census.

I have a William Bates of Marsworth m 1805 Mary Timson (1778-1828) with children William (1806-1836), Phebe (1809-?) who married Isaac Randle of Wing, Charles (1811-?), Thomas (1815-?), Marianne (1818-1819), Jemima (1820-1823) and Elizabeth (1824-?).

I am descended from a Thomas Bates (?1819-?) of Marsworth who married Elizabeth Cartwright of Tring in 1839 and had children James (1841-?), Joseph, William, Lucy (1846-?), Marianne (1849-?), Emma (1849-?), Maria (1851-1918), Joseph 1853-?), Eliza(1858-?), Clare( 1860-?).

I also have a son Joseph 1813-1833 as one of William and Mary's children.

Can I assume that you are descended from Thomas Bates'- Maria Bates and Thomas Saunders?

I am descended from the second son named Joseph 1853 - 1937.
