Hi Jane,
Welcome to RootsChat and to RootsChar webspace
when you got your confitmation mail for the webspace, you also got user-name and passwords for your webspace and for the ftp manager.
the user-name is your-webspace-name_rootschat_net and the password is the one you entered when applying for the webspace
If you've lost the e-mail, you will have to wait till Trystan can tell you what was in it !
Hope this helps ! Bob
ps: if you think this is difficult, maybe it has something to do with your name: Muehsam or Mühsam is german for laborious
But don't despair, you'll get there !

Hi Jane,
when did you your request web-space ?
Although I am not the web-space administrator (Trystan is !) I can tell you this much:
You apply for web-space You receive an e-mail (almost immediately) but this e-mail is an automatic response to say your e-mail has been received.
The next stage is that Trystan assigns you some space, and then tells you when this space is available. This is a manual process and depends on when Trystan has time -- and he's very busy at work at the moment, so it might take longer than usual.
If nothing happens within the, say, the next four days, PM Trystan and ask him directly.
Bob
ps. mühsam = difficult, laboured, exhausting, laborious, etc
Hard working = arbeitsam, fleißig to go above and beyond the call of duty = Über die Pflicht hinaus
Maybe the meaning has changed in the course of time, but I doubt it !
But maybe you are "arbeitsam" anyway

Hi Berlin Bob,
My last comment may have sounded very rude, please forgive me. The person who told me about my surname meaning was 80+ is German with still a very thick Accent. I was always taught to mind my elders, and show respect. Actually I was very scared to speak up! So ok I'm still a nice Welsh girl, who was raised to have respect to her elders and never speak back....... they are always right!! (the older people). Hopefully no disrespect, and I will still always listen to my elders, no matter what!! One day I will be the elders and someone may listen to me. Thanks Bob for your help Jane

Hi Jane,
No problems ! no offense taken as I didn't find it rude at all. Some "chat" more on postings than others !
I hope you do speak back now and then, the "elders" aren't always right, you know !!! (Although an 80+ year old ? You probably wouldn't get very far there !)
So, on another topic entirely, How's things with your web-site ?? Is it active yet ? If not PM Trystan directly and ask him. There is such a lot happening at the moment, that he may have overlooked it.
regards, Bob
