The Elusive George Affleck
« on: Monday 25 July 05 14:26 UTC (UK) »

There is a George Affleck (son of George) b. jun 1854/5 SCO

His immigration circumstances are quite cloudy. However he ended up in Philadelphia, was married and had a family in 1880.

I am following a hunch that he is the son of George b. 1 Aug 1827 in St Quinox and died in Troon.

If so, he is the grand-son of George Affleck b 6 Apr 1780 in Kirkcudbright married to Mary McKay b abt 1800 St Quinox

Can anyone help me in my "10 year wild goose chase"?
I am looking for a marriage record and a family that includes this elusive George.

Many Thanks
