Hi, I looked on the 1871 census and there is a Charles & Susan Wood living in North Street, can`t be sure it`s No. 10 but it must be close.
Regards, Sue

Sue is right, there doesn't seem to be a number 10 as such!
The only NORMAN family are in Western Road, Alpha House, Bayshill.

That didnt work very well then!
Is there a North Street in Cirencester? Sorry to be a pain.
Im reading the address off a marriage certificate and as they got married in Cheltenham I asumed it was there, although they did seem to spend most of their lives in Cirencester!
Thank you for your time.

It would be easier to look for the people rather than the address, at least from my point of view. Do you want to post the family/ies?
Folk often stayed in a "place of residence" just the night before a marriage, I am told. They are often in the same address - which horrified my mum, who thought her grandparents had been living in sin!! LOL
I don't know how many houses had numbers on display, maybe the enumerator failed to spot the number and you could still be right about Cheltenham.

Hi sorry for delay have been on hols! The people Im tring to find are : Richard Wood born 1836 in Cirencester (Gardener) and Miriam Norman born 1834 in Winson. They married in 1869 at Cheltenham. I have found them in 1871,81,91 and 1901, living in Cirencester, but have only been able to find Richard before they married and no sign of Miriam. On their marriage certificate is states her father as Job Norman (Gardener) but I cant find any sign of him either!!

Hi Ali
I am coming up with a blank too. There is a Martha of about the right age in Winson with a daughter Elizabeth (aged 5 in 1861). No sign of a Miriam though.
1851 census has a NORMAN family in Winson, but again no Miriam.
I wonder if she was known by another name?
There is a family in Bristol in 1861 with a baby son Job, but he is the only one I have found.
Very strange!

Hi, I have a WOOD family tree starting with Richard WOOD, a leather breaches maker in Cirencester , m 10 June 1742 to Ann Waite.
They had 9 children, the 7th was William WOOD, bp 12 July 1755, m 27 Jun 1778 to Olive Haydon.
They in turn had 13 children [I have the names] the 11th was Anthony Mark WOOD bp 6 Jul 1792 d 7 Feb 1870 m Rachel Brown.
They in turn had 9 children the 8th was I think the Richard WOOD you are seeking, I have him born on 25 June 1834, d 30 Nov 1912, m Miriam Lander d 8 Feb 1906. They had 12 children.
Please contact me at herbert.home[at] btinternet.com if you would like the details. Regards, Richard Herbert

Hi Ali, I left out one major piece of info, in that my family tree shows 'Miriam Norman (aka Lander)' , so you may need to look under that name rather than Norman.
