There are 11 Richard Stevens in the 1871 census born within 2 years of 1805, do you have a county or birth place

Please help ......... Richard Stevens b 1847 Greenwich Kent .........

I have tracked him on 1861 Census would someone please track him through 1871 and 1881 to see where he is.

on 1861 he was a son of Mary and Richard Stevens in 3 Springfield Collages Greenwich Kent.

He also has a sister Eliza A Stevens 1845
and Frances L Steevns 1852
and Louis Stevens 1850 who I would like to trace too.

Is is too much trouble?

This is such a fabulous medium to help Kiwis in the outer areas where facilities are difficult to get too.

Really Really appreciate you help.

Hi Jillian,

I can't find a match for him in 1871 (but then again, with a name like Richard Stevens, if he changes his birthplace, he's virtually unfindable!)

Here's his dad:

RG10/759
Folio 46 p. 43
Greenwich, London

1 Elm Cottages

Thomas Turner, son in law, 26, Carpenter, b. Norfolk Ackham
Elisa Turner, dau in law (should read daughter, I guess), 26, b. Kent Greenwich
Frederick Turner, grandson, 3 ms, b. Greenwich
Elizabeth Horscroft (?), granddau, 16, b. Kent Maidstone
Richard Stevens, head, 66, Gardener, b. Kent Eltham
Frances Stevens, dau, 19, b. Greenwich

Can't find Louis either.

As for the 1881 Census, you can search it for free at either www.familysearch.org or www.ancestry.co.uk

If you manage to track him down in 1881, please post the details so that I can have another look at 1871.

Good luck!

Jillian

Is he not the one who died in 1867?, Greenwich district aged 20, vol 1d, page 449
RICHARD ANDREW STEVENS

The 1871 that Tanja has provided is a strange one............unusual to have the head below most of the family members.........and one assumes that Eliza is the daughter aged 16 in the 1861...............and note that Mary A H Stevens....ie the Mother is not there......Richard (senior) being declared as married in the 1871

1871...Alms Houses, Monk Soham, Suffolk
Mary A Stevens (wid) 61             Bedfield, Suffolk

just a coincidence? ............ or is she with a daughter/son somewhere helping rear a newborn?

Regards
Bryant
