Thomson/Cuie
« on: Friday 05 August 05 01:24 UTC (UK) »

Hello, I am seeking anyone with connections to John Thomson?Thomason from Marnoch ,Banff who married Ann Cuie?Cowie(in the parish of Rothiemay) in Rothiemay,Banff 26 Jul 1771. They had four children-
Jane Thomson born abt 1772 Bellie, Moray md James Gibb 4 Nov 1803 Cairnie by Huntly
Susan Thomson  chr 20 Aug 1778 Cairnie by Huntly  may have md Wm McGaw 18 Jan 1801 Cairnie By Huntly
  Margaret Thomson chr 11 Apr 1779 Fordyce,Banff
  Helen Thomson chr  29 Apr 1794 Marnoch,Banff

It appears that John Thomason was christened 30 Apr 1733 Marnoch Parents William Thomson and Janet Mitchel. This John Thomson was a soldier on his daughter's death certificate but there is no exact mention of a John Thomson, soldier from Banff in anything I have looked up
I find after examing the Parish film for Rothiemay that a James Cuie married a Catherine Brown and produced many children witrh witnesses of Mitchels. There is no record of Ann Cuie or Cowie  birth in Rothiemay abt the recommended time period of 1730s to 50s. Any help out there please ?. ndpaton
