I first mentioned on Suffolk rootsweb mailing list that someone was putting together a book about Marlesford nearly 2 years ago, I think, soon after my visit 'treading in my ancestors' footsteps', with the help of my cousins Kevin Scott and Ken Finch.

The booklet is now available, I understand, from Margaret Fisher, and she tells me "on receipt of a cheque for £6 (for UK only)" and her address is:
2 East View Cottages
Marlesford
Woodbridge IP13 0AT.

Hi forest.

Amazon didn't turn up much, but you can search the Suffolk Libraries holdings online.  A search for "Stoke by Clare" turns up quite a few titles.

A new book will soon be available, it tells us about the various trades and professions that would have been going on in a small market town anywhere in Suffolk.
From the harness maker to the baker, from the malster to the printer etc etc.

Many photographs and documents illustrate the carefully researched information.

Glad I could help Liz   Cheesy

As you will have noticed, it's a small publisher with a special interest in Norfolk and Suffolk.

Many of the books have interactive pages - the one about the Gressenhall Workhouse has pages of information as will the new book on Framlingham (it will include the Fram 1901 Census).

All best wishes, SM ...

I have bought the one about newspaper reports, which looked interesting.  Many of my ancestors were born in Norfolk and Suffolk, but moved away, so I haven't researched that area yet, but thought this was a good way to start.

 New book about the Workhouses.

I am just about to order a new book called At The Overseers Door, the story of Suffolk's parish workhouses

by Ray Whitehand of Saxmundham.

Tracing the existence of the Workhouses in the county from the middle of the 16th Cenruty to the 1830s.

Available from the author at his home address (contact me PM for details) or from bookshops in Suffolk.

It costs GBP 9.95 plus GBP 2.00 Post and Packing it's a softback with 112 pages.

Keep a look out on the East Anglian Daily Times Features page as this will probably be added to the web site very soon - at present you can read all about another new book about the trades and professions in a small Suffolk market town around 1900.
