Hi, I am looking for a John SPRECKLEY on the 1841 Census. He was born about 1820 in Peterborough and later lived in Whittlesea. Many thanks for any help that can be provided. Have a nice day, Darren M Flowers Wyrallah NSW Australia

Hi Darren
Whittlesey is in Cambridgeshire and Cambs FHS has an online index for 1841 and 1851 at http://www.cfhs.org.uk/Search.html
In 1851 what appears to be your man was at Arnold St, Whittlesey John Spreckley head marr 31 Carpenter/joiner journeyman born Peterborough Eleanor Spreckley wife 27 b Huntingdon, Hunts Mary Ann Spreckley fau 2 b Whittlesey (unnamed) Spreckley son 5 wks b Whittlesey
The index shows a John Sprichley, but I think the entry is actually Sprickley, as follows Arnold St, Whittlesey John Sprickley 21 carpenter not born in Cambs in household of John Cheshire 30 cordwainer and family
regards
David

Hi, Thanks for the info-very appreciated. I was unaware of the Cambs link so thanks for that. I am unsure of what the reference to Flintoff-Whoosh is? Can you elaborate? If it is to do with cricket I am actually an England supporter in cricket. Bob Willis was my boyhood idol and I have supported England in cricket ever since even though I am 5th generation Australia. Some might think that is a bit wierd *s* Cheers, Darren
