Hi,

I have looked on the 1861 census for Edward and Samuel Toon in the Wednesbury area and they do not appear to be there at the time of the census.  The only Toon I culd find was one by the name of John and his wife Harriet.

On the 1871 census in the Wednesbury area there is a Edward Toon head age 58. Boatman born Staff Stretton.
Hannah Toon wife age 59 born Staff Stretton.
Address 77 King Street Wednesbury.
Reference number RG/ 10 2991 page 72.

I think these are Samuel's parents.  Could not find Samuel in the same area on the 1871 census.  In 1881 he was living in Darlaston.  So I will have a look in that area for you on the 1871 census.

Hi,

These are the details of John Toon and family from the 1861 census, don't know if you have them.

reference number RG9/2036 page 37.

address Ramsdale Building ? Wednesbury (sorry the writing is hard to read)

John Toon head age 26. Boatman C S. born Staff. (can't make it out)
Harriet Toon wife age 26. b. Staff Burton.
Ann Toon daur age 3. b. Staff Wednesbury.

If you still don't have Samuel Toon or Edward Toon from the 1861 census I will look for them in Burton Upon Trent.  It may take me a couple of days as I am busy this week.
