Kempston Miltary Connections?
« on: Thursday 11 August 05 22:14 UTC (UK) »

Hello,

Could anyone tell me whether there are any military connections to the village of Kempston or suurounding area during the period covering the Napoleonic Wars?

I have an ancestor who was in the Royal Artilllery Drivers, stationed at Woolwich Common by 1819, but whose marriage details show him as living in Kempston, Bedfordshire in 1815.

I know there was a barracks constructed around 1875 - was there an earlier barracks?

Many thanks Smiley
