Bucket family Croydon to Wandsworth

Hi Can anyone please help me with Buckett family Ethell Margaret  Buckett was born Croydon 1885 her father was Henry Buckett  from Hants and her mother Margaret  from sussex the other children were born Wandsworth
I think the places are near each other I am not sure about English counties and they seem to change any info at all on this family will be welcome

Dear Lesley

I am researching Bucketts from Hampshire (my late mother's family) and have a lot of information.  Do you know anything more about Henry, as there were a lot of Henrys in the family in Hampshire, which is a big county!  Do you have any kind of place name or address which might narrow it down or the names of his parents/brothers and sisters?  The Buckett family is a very large one.

As I am not looking in Wandsworth I have not come across Ethel but have found some Bucketts in Banstead which is about 8 miles from Croydon.  As she was born in 1885 the next place to look is the 1901 Census when she would have been 16.  I can do that for you if you like. 

Wandsworth is just outside London, not far from Croydon.  Sussex and Hampshire are counties next to each other, but are quite a long way from Croydon.

Have just looked up your names on the 1901 Census and have found Ethel, Henry and Margaret.
Henry Buckett aged 41 born Lansbury Green, Hants.  (can't find this place on my map - may be a mistake in transcribing or maybe it doesn't exist any more) living in Streatham, London, occupation Gardener Domestic.
Margaret Buckett aged 38 born Horsham, Sussex, living in Streatham, London.
Ethel Buckett aged 10, born Strand, London and living in St. Paul Covent Garden, London.  As I don't know the other childrens' names, I could not look them up but if they are there they will be listed on the household when you pay to go into the records.
 
I haven't been in to look at these entries and from the above, it appears that Ethel is not living with Henry and Margaret - she may be visiting a relative on the Census night. 

You can access the website at pro.gov.uk for the 1901 Census online - to look at the complete records you have to pay.  I save up my queries and do them all at once and it only costs £1 to get the names of everyone in the household (you can pay in units of £5 upwards depending on how many you need to look up).

Let me know how you get on, or if you need any help.  I may have your Henry in my relations.

Hope you pick up my messages soon.

I have just been into the 1901 Census again and think I have found the Ethel you want, age 15.  She was born in Merton, Surrey (not London) and lives in Streatham which is where Henry and Margaret are listed as living.  It looks like the other Ethel is unlikely to be the right one.

Henry was born in SARISBURY GREEN near Southampton, Hants. and in the 1881 Census is living in Mortlake, near Kew, as a Gardener Domestic.
