Topic: find postings! (Read 506 times)

I am not a beginner, but seem to be wasting a lot of time trying to find my postings if I haven't just had a new reply. Am I being thick or what?!
With loads of different areas I am pursueing, it is hard to remember where I have posted messages. Of course, the personal replies are ok but the "new replies to your posts" is of na help if you don't actually have any!! 
HELP!
(Rant over)
Also the spell check just comes up blank....

Hi Francesca!
If you can find something you have posted, click on your "name" and it will display your profile. You can then click on "show latest posts of this person" and select the one you need by clicking on the title line.

p.s. If you can't find anything - go to the bottom of the Main Rootschat board - where it lists all those online & click on your name there. Then as above...

Have tried this by clicking on my personal replies and then my profile etc and found what I wanted! Now all I need to do is get the spell check to work

Sometimes we've been using RootsChat for so long, that we can't see the wood for the trees !!
I've just realised: 
At the top of each RootsChat page there is a line of buttons ( welcome, home, etc) and ......
One of these buttons is Profile !!!
Click on this button, and you get your profile.
Then click on "Show the last posts of this RootsChatter"

Have tried all these suggestions but.... Top of page still says 3 messages and no new postings etc. Not quite true ! Posted recently and received a reply yesterday and whilst starting to send thank-you message up popped a box telling me a new message. HAve yet to find it !!!

It will take a while to learn all the ins and outs, but you'll get there !!
Just for clarification:
The term message is sometimes used for replies to postings, and personal messages.
Replies to postings are public, anyone can see them. If you go to your profile and click on "Show latest postings" you will see all your public replies to postings
Top of page still says 3 messages
These are Personal i.ie. private Messages (PMs) which only you can read.
to do this, click on the "3 messages" bit and you, and only you, can see your PMs. You can reply here, and you can also send other people a PM by clicking on the "Send this member a PM" line in their profile, or on the green scroll on the left hand side of any of their postings.
The pop-up also refers to PMs and not to public replies to postings
