Tracing back from New Zealand to the British Isles

Hi all,
To my delight I've discovered via the SEAX index that the Essex Record Office hold a whole bunch of files relating to my Smyth family line. I've tried emailing them to find out about getting a copy of these files but I've been unable to get any response (I have been patient and waited an entire 12 months!) 
If anyone is visiting the Essex Record Office anytime in the next couple of months and would be able to arrange copying of some of these files for me (and postage or email to New Zealand) I'd love to hear from you. I would, of course, cover any costs you would incur.
If anyone might be able to help me out I'd love to hear from you.

Sorry, but none of those first names feature in my Smyth family line.
My line passes down through numerous Sir Robert Smyths then Sir George Henry Smyth of Berechurch Hall. If you have a link with this family then I've gathered quite a bit of information I'd be happy to share with you. If not, then good luck with your search.
