Birth records

I'm looking for info for a friend - her g/g/grandfather GEORGE WOODFORD came from England but was in the Army, based in Ireland when his 2 daughters were born.  So far, we are unable to find any trace of them in records.  Margaret was born in 1883 & Florence (Florrie) in 1885.  The 1901 census gives the place of birth as Limerick.

Does anyone have any idea of where I might find their birth details? I've checked the Overseas records that include some of the Army stuff, but no joy at the moment, it is probable they were registered locally.  I've no idea either where exactly he was based in Limerick.

It is also possible that he married in Ireland also, to a HARRIET, although she is showing as coming from Leicester, but until we can find a birth certificate, we dont know her maiden name to check.
