Do you know what province Betty Malley went to?

P.S.
Perhaps someone at the Royal Canadian Legion might be able to help, depending on the type of information they might have on spouses of members.
Here is their website:

Hello Isabel have you tried these sites to see if there is any info or to post a message?
passenger lists of WW2 war brides http://www.passengerlists.co.uk/outbound.htm
sites for info about warbrides http://home.istar.ca/~lyster/warbride/ http://www.warbrides.co.uk/
a mailing list for info about war brides http://www.warbrides.co.uk/
I would imagine that Betty married in England so searching by last name might be difficult . My great Uncle met a girl in WW2 and married her in Britian. With the marriage certificate she was able to travel to Canada on the military transport at no charge.
I know here in Canada a lot of newspapers ran free announcements for returning soldiers, and their marriages and children's births abroad. Perhaps it was the same in England? Have you searched newspaper archives for where you think she lived last to see if there was a marriage announcement? Have you checked newspaper archives for where her parents were living to see if there was a marraige announcement for Betty there? That would list her husband and perhaps their plans to come to a certain place in Canada after their marriage.
Good luck
Thelma

Izzy,
If you go to:
http://findaperson.canada411.ca/
and search on surname starts with "Towel" in "All Provinces", you'll get hits for Towell and Towells.
Perhaps it might be worthwhile to write a few letters or make a few phone calls (especially if you buy a cheapie calling card).
I did a search on the Canadian Legion Magazine's Last Post website, which has deaths posted since 1990, but only two Towells came up:

Izzy,
You mentioned the death of Betty's mother. Was there an obituary and, if so, do you have a copy of it? I'm wondering if it might indicate what part of Canada Betty was living in at the time of her mother's death.
Since Elizabeth/Betty and Thomas were married in 1945, they might still be living. I would suggest writing or phoning the Towells whose first initials begin with B, E and T.
Regards, Josephine

Found in England, married 1896 Woolwich...Arthur William Towell and Lillian Gertrude Callegari...was hoping that there would be something online for a family tree, but only found 2 children, not yours... born close to the marriage date...no offspring, etc. I did find the death of a Nellie Towell in Manitoba, 1916, but no others, so the name is likely linked to the couple in the 1911 census...which also don't seem to link to any of your towells..J.J.
also have found more variations of the name: Towill and Towle Only two Towle on Canada 411...one with T. initial

The 1911 Census for Canada show a Thomas W. Towle living in St. Mary's Ontario, age 12. Could this be the father of your Thomas W. if he is hubby to your Elizabeth?

His name is not Thomas, but might be worth keeping in mind? Although, the wedding record does not suggest in any way that he was a doctor.

Sorry for the error. I thought in your first post that it said his name was Thomas W who married Elizabeth Malley. I didn't see the Arthur. Check the 1911 census for Arthur William, if you want the automated census not the one done by the Governement as it you have to search each page (incase you didn't know) Good Luck
