I could not find my old home at "North End" listed in any Census, it was located away from the main village of Madresfield, and while the enumerator logged the other houses in the same lane he  left the far end off.

The answer came in a recently published History of the next village, originally our house was in Guarlford Parish! On the map the boundary has a big bump in it. The boundary had been moved, but when? The History is a bit vague about boundary dates as there was a long argument as to who paid for a cemetery at least three miles away in Malvern. I shall investigate.

Maybe if you have lost a location it could help to check the next parish. A very basic principle to you experts but us new researchers need a clue now and then.

PART 2:

I have now found "North End" under Gt Malvern Census. My wife who tolerates my time conusuming hobby commented, "Well of course there is a brook down that lane, I'll bet thats the parish boundary." You know what, she's right!
