I am still desperately trying to find the parents and siblings of William Rowson born c1802 believed in Shenley but not confirmed. Can anyone assist or have you come across this person

I'm afraid that William's baptism is not showing up on the BVRI, so you will need to check HALS for his baptism I'm afraid.

Hertfordshire does not sell its PR's on microfiche only microfilm, so consequently few people have their own copies.

If you cannot visit in person, and if no-one offers to check there on your behalf, HALS does offer a research service.

Hi P@B

My great-grandmother married a William Rowson !

My father remembers staying with her at their house in Shenley sometime during WWII. (This was my great-grandmother's second marriage sometime after 1930)

According to my g-gms death certificate (1951) this William was a builder's labourer. Address given on certificate is 6 New Road - Shenley.

I also have some other Rowson burial information taken from Shenley Parish Registers - 1941 to 1951 if you'd like them.

Hi P@B,

I searched the Shenley PRs on my recent visit to HALS but found no baptism entry for William. The only item I came across about that time for the name of Rowson was the burial of Elizabeth, wife of Thomas Rowson on 16 Dec 1798.

Is this the same family.
