A most resounding YES.
The helpful people on here are amazing. I have only been a member for a few weeks, but I have made so much progress with my research -all due to the lovely people who give their time and their resources to help each other.
The photograph restoration forum is fantastic too. Rootschat is my homepage, and there is always something of interest to read. Thanks to you all,
    Cheers, Pat.

I'm really hoping that RC might be of help.

To be honest, I've been here, and I think that I'm completely stuck.  But at the same time, I can't quite believe that I've got both grandfathers that I can't trace any further back.  That 'half' of my family history ends with grandparents.

I'm happy I found this site too.  There are so many helpful people out there.  And it's nice to know you're not the only one who gets excited about finding dead people! Smiley

Yes, it will be a great help to me; it has so far and will carry on.
I want to trace a family in America and I only have two details; 1) the surname of the family I am looking for and 2) they have a famous family as friends of theirs.
Where can I ask? Do you cover America? Somehow I don't think you do, but any advice will be useful, even if it is to tell me to give up on this one  Cheesy

Very glad to have found this site and I am having more fun every time I log in!   Wink

I cannot resist mentioning the skill of the picture restorers, and the techies, what a brilliant lot they are!  Grin

Had loads of help from the North, and East Anglia who helped me with huge amounts of information!  A very kind lady in the USA sent me whole newpapers with all my family news in.

What wonderful people they all are! Cool  It restores ones faith in human nature.   Smiley

The jokes from the Irish section were great fun,  I would never have imagined all those spellings! for my brick walls! Shocked  Which I still am trying to crack  Huh

So, I have had a huge amount of help from Rootschatters, for which I am very grateful!  Best site on the web I think!

I have found Moderators and Rootschatters to be of great help. I had been searching in vain for years trying to locate GG and GGG's
wthout any luck until I found Rootschat and within forty eight hours
got desired results. I am new to using computers and rootchatters have been very kind helping me long the way.
