Lydart, check the Chatroom.  That's where you will find most of them non-posters. Wink

Hi Beverley

I agree totally, and what I like about that help is that it often helps you to think in other ways about research into my ancestors.

For instance I went to my local record office this week and spent the morning scanning pages of bmds, great and I filled in a lot of gaps.  But on rootschat people help each other out with the other bits of information other than those simple data such as occupations, places and lifestyles and have helped me to pad out the lives of those people who seem to have become somewhat important to me.

A resounding YES! I have not many posts, but any requests for help, have been met by the friendliest, most helpful people. Cheesy

Lydart, I can honestly say that I really mean to do some research, but every time I get on here, I end up reading everyone else's posts, and can't seem to think about what I should be doing/looking for, as it all makes such interesting reading, following the YTG, looking at the photos, etc. Grin

Yes, as well as finding help in finding ancestors, I've also, and more importantly, made lots of friends !

I would just like to echo what Lydart has written

When I first came on here, I asked some of the dumbest questions (proberly still do), no one seemed to mind, they were all answered with kindness.

If it wasnt for Rootschat I wouldnt be researching my family....I tried awhile back and ran into "that wall"....Stumbled onto Rootschat and boom......Instantly people are out to help out anyway they can...And the info on these pages by searching... ...Amazing...

Rootschat has also been one of the ways that has brought my mother and myself closer...We found a Hobby in common ...I never knew she was also so big in finding her side of the family as well as her new husbands......

Thanks Rootschat and the people that keep the wheels turning here..

Yes, yes and yes Grin

I've only been on since 4th February 2008, I have not only found past rellies but also a whole thread of family alive and well whom we knew nothing about!

I have been helped and in turn I have been able to help.

We are all here to learn and to share knowledge - Rootschat deserves a real pat on the back.

A resounding yes has to be the reply, not only have several brick walls been knocked down for me but the help, advice and encouragement I have had is amazing. And as a bonus I have found a whole lot of caring friends. This is by far the best research site, well done Trystan and Sarah and all the mods
