« on: Tuesday 23 August 05 21:07 BST (UK) »

Hi there,
Could some kind soul possibly give me a hand ?
I don't seem to be able to find Robert Bannister and his wife Catherine on the 1901 census
Robert would be about 55 at the time of the 1901 census
Catherine was born in Alveley Shropshire in 1857.
Any help much appreciated

Bit of a mystery - this lot. Did you know Fanny is still with grand- parents in 1891??  Did you find rest of them in 1891??

Robert is with an Uncle in 1891 - this doesn't bode well for finding the parents - perhaps they died or did a runner Huh

1891

47 Duke Street Kinton Herefordshire

Bannister, Frederick  1844 Leominster, Herefordshire,  Head Cabinet Maker
Bannister, Mary 1856 Paulerspury, Northamptonshire, Wife
Bannister, Robert  1876 Birmingham, Warwickshire,Nephew

RG12/2077 Kington Folio 24 Page 8

These siblings are widely seperated - fear the worst for at least Robert. Perhaps he died and she re-married or both died. Can't trace any information on free resources.

Could be. Trouble is - there is such a long gap inbetween the census they disappear all over the wretched country. Guess you will only know by sending for cert and seeing who registered the death. Must admit I was looking in Shropshire.

Best of Luck, Tricia
