This is not a request for a specific lookup, but would like help filling in the unknowns.
The story so far.
Original post, May 5, 2005 by FBD
I am in search of the Allwright family in Essex circa 1830s.
In particular a Henry Allwright (aka Allan Harry Allwright). He gave his name as Henry on his 3 marriage certificates, but as Allan Harry on his son's birth certificate.
He was born in Essex - guesstimate between 1833-1842. SOURCES: "Age 40" c.1833 (on 1873 Marriage Cert) "Age 40" c.1836 (on 1876 Marriage Cert) "Age 46" c.1842 (on 1888 Death Cert)
Parents: On 2 marriage certificates he states his father as George (a Miller). As for his mother, one reads Mary Barker and the other Martha Closky (? handwriting hard to decipher). All other family members are unknown (eg. brothers and sisters).
When he left England is unknown, however he was in Victoria Australia by Feb 1851 (for his 1st marriage to Amelia Broadripp).
Henry died in March 1888 in Australia (Northern Territory).
If anyone can shed some light or has any Allwright information you can give, it will be greatly appreciated.
