a few weeks ago some one asked me to look for a Sarah Dowies b I could not help but I wonder could this be her
Transcript from West Cumberland Times dated september 30-1903

On Friday night a young woman named Sarah DOWIE became  insensible while
in the Theater Royal, Whithaven. On being taken into the open  air she revived
to some extent, though she remained in a dazed condition. She  was taken to a
private house, and again lost consciousness. As she showed no  sign of "coming
around" it was deemed advisable to have her removed to the  infirmary, and
two policemen procured a stretcher and carried her to that  institution. She
appeared to be in a cataleptic condition, but regained  consciousness shortly
after admission to the Infirmary. She was, however,  detained there. She is 27
years of age, and lives with her brother at  Kells
