Khydybroun, Bletherston, Pembroke
« on: Saturday 07 August 04 08:40 UTC (UK) »

Has anybody heard of a place called Khydybroun? or possibly spelt Rhydybrown?  It could be an estate or name of a property in the parish of Bletherston. My ancestor, Charles Griffiths was a gameskeeper and according to the IGI, his children were born in Khydybroun.

Can anyone enlighten me as to where or if this place exists?

Cheers

Hiya Karenn,

I think we're in luck, try Rhyd-y-brown in Pembroke:

Or try the zoomed in one here - shows Rhyd-y-brown and Bletherston

Hello Dux,
I think Tystan is right and the name should be Rhyd-y-brown.  I looked at the LDS film and it definately looks like an R, rather than a K.  So it looks like the LDS transcriber got the spelling wrong. If anything turns up on the estate side, please let me know.

Cheers
