I'm looking for information on Richard Whiting of Moulton married in the 1820s and had daugher Miriam in 1830. Can anyone do a look up for me and find out more about these people? Perhaps an 1841 census check? Thanks, Laverdiere

Hi, I have a Richard Whiting in my tree, He is the son of John Whiting and Elizabeth Marriot. My side of the family is from Richards brother, Thomas Whiting. I am searching for the parents of John, do you have any information?

Nice to hear from you Also nice to get Elizbeth's last name. I have Baptisms & burials 1740-1799 for Moulton on order and I hope this will tell me John's parents.
I know John and Elizabeth had ten children, Richard being the second oldest and Thomas the youngest.
Can you tell me anymore about this family? Do you know whether and when Richard's family moved to South Africa?

I don't think I can give any more information than you already have. I could send you a copy of my tree as it stands if that would be of any help. My mothers family is Jeyes, which has been easier to research and I have concentrated my efforts doing that side.
I to would like to trace the parents of John. I have searched the some of the early parish records but have been unable to find any other Whitings, prior to John.
In truth I was hoping you may be able to help me. I will be in London this weekend and intend to visit the NRO. I am hoping that may turn something up.
There is a strong possibility that the Whitings may well have been Methodists (there was a chapel in the village (as well as a Baptist). Also looking in the census records Whiting is a fairly common name in some of the surrounding villages and Moulton seems to have been an up and coming village, they may well have arrived about the time of John.
Hope I haven't posed more questions than answers

My surname is whiting, although I haven't gone as far back as early 1800's, I have done some research into my family in Hardingstone and Wootton from the turn of the century, and I know there were several branches of the 'Whiting' family in these two villages, perhaps the Moulton Whitings were related to these Whitings ?

Hi Cobbler
My last name is also Whiting, I was born in Moulton and have traced my side of the family back to about 1778. They managed to stay in the village with only a few going astray. There a lot of Whitings in the Northampton area in the surrounding villages, Brafield seems to be a very popular area. Of course anything is possible (I currently live in Scotland). Do you have anything that may indicate there is a connection?
