Nolan
« on: Saturday 27 August 05 18:56 BST (UK) »

Hi I wonder if some one could check the 1901 census for me.

I have a Mary Nolan either married to a Harold Dawson or John Henry Readman in 1885.  I am trying to find out whom she married.

She was the sister of my great grandfather Michael Nolan.

Secondly their parents were Thomas and  Catherine Nolan both born in Ireland.  Could someone suggest how I would go about trying to establish where in Ireland they were born.  In 1881 Thomas was 58 years old and Catherine was 44 years old.

I picked them up in the 1861 1871 and 1881 census but there is no indication of which town in Ireland they were born.

Thanks you so much

Wow Catherine that was fast.  Thanks so much for that information.

Would you know if there is any way to access earlier census such as the 1941 and 1951 census.  I would like to try and find out when Thomas and Catherine Nolan actually appear in the British census.  If they appear as children it may give the names of their parents.

Thanks so much for your help.

I haven't got access to the 1841/51 census unfortunately, but if you do a posting asking specificaly for an 1841/51 lookup, I'm sure someone may be able to help.
