Can anyone please help........i have a William Hansler born around 1835 at Shorwell,IOW and a Charlotte Hansler(nee Smith) born around 1836 in Poole,Dorset they were married in 1861 in Portsmouth i think.

Could this be them? RG10/1139 120 30 & 31 Portsea, Hampshire 55 Harley Street William Hanslen, head, 35, Seaman RN, b. Portsea Charlotte, wife, 35, b. Dorset Poole Ellen, dau, 4, b. Portsea Ralph, son (twin), 1, b. do. William, son (twin), age N.K. (!), b. do.

Hi Tanja,many thanks for your reply and blimey that's thrown the cat among the pigeons......I have them in the 1891 census as having their 1st child in 1871(Frederick Charles Hansler)and two more in 1876 and 1879.It does seem a long time to go till you have your 1st child(10 yrs in this case),i think i'll have to check the deaths index to see if any of the earlier named children you came up with actually died. MMM,i suppose by 1891 they could have moved on,i know that there was a Ralph Hansler who was in the Yeoman Light Infantry in the Boer War around 1900 but it didn't seem to relate with the info that i had at the time,got something more to go on now hopefully.
