cook of scarborough

my  G.grandfather   Robert  George cook  was  born  in  scarborough in 1845. 
father  william  cook  mother  violetta ( bowering) ( nee Oxley)
cannot  find   the  marriage  to his  first  wife  Catherine  callaghan  has far has  we  NOW  catherine  came  from  ireland
there  first child  was  born  about  1868   

any  help  ore  ideas  on  finding  this  would  be  appreciated

There is no record of the marriage in St Marys (Scarborough) registers between 1862 and 1868.
