OMG Smeghead that's the weirdest thing I've ever heard. Please send an email to the contact on the site, I know it's not an automated reply since I had a response from "Alex" when I sent a query.
Thanks a lot Anne, it's good to have it tested with all browsers, as they keep telling us, wait till I put some more stuff up, that's when the fun will start

Hi Donna,
Don't worry - we've all been there - have a look here - http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,70811.0.html
Then post all your questions - WE will all help - notice I say WE - if you look you will find lots of questions from me a few months ago!! - Now I am trying to help others - most of it does get easier - honest!!
But there are things to learn - Berlin Bob told me I should try to learn something new every day - trouble is it seems you have to learn 6 new things everyday - but keep at it and you WILL get there.
Cheers
Keith

Thanks Donna, and ask away, if I can help I will and if I can't, then as Keith says there is him and Bob and lots of others who can!
One thing I have found out is not to be scared of putting your tree up, if you use a copy of your main file and not the original it shouldn't go wrong and most of these programmes that turn your gedcom file into a website seem to do the job for you without much effort from you. I think the decision is to look at many other sites and see how you want yours to look and see what sort of software they have used.
I already knew a little about html so adding a paragraph and changing the software image to a photograph and adding another wasn't too difficult - to add extras there's always the good old "cut and paste", if you've (or the software writer) got the code right once then it'll work again
Lots of luck and I'll look forward to seeing it, give me a shout when I can!
