Thomas b1846, James b1846 and Peter b1855 Qualey and families, were living in Wigan in 1881. I know that Thomas married Mary Ann Cheetham in 1869, but do not know where or when they came from in Ireland. I have reason to belive that James and his family, emigrated to America. Can anyone help please?

Hi Greta, I found a Mary A Qualey, age 43, head of household born in Pemberton on the 1891 census in Wigan. it indicates that she is a widow. The following children are listed living with her: Amie, John,Kate, Mary, Margaret, Susan, William. On the same census there is a Pete Qualey and his family living with a Mary Gordan(sp) who is 52 and a widow. Pete is 34 years old, Coal Miner ?, born in Ireland other famil members are: Ellen, wife, age 32, born Wigan James, son,14, cotton spinner, wigan Peti, son, 12, coal miner ?, wigan Catherine, dau, 10,wigan Ann, dau, 8,,wigan Patrick, son, 6,wigan
Couldnt fins a James Qualey on the 1891 census. I looked on the Ellis Island site briefly, tried just a few alternative name spellings, but had no luck finding James.
Hope this helps

Thank you very much for your help Juszach.
I did see a post for James in Main USA. It was about six months old at the time; I have not had a heard anything from my reply. I have been told that there are only 284? Quayle's in America, nearly all of them in Main.
Thank you again, Margaret
