United Associate Synod
« on: Sunday 04 September 05 16:19 BST (UK) »

Looking through the 1845 Statistical Account for Benholme Parish I came across a reference to folk in the parish who belonged to the United Associate Synod.  Can anyone enlighten me?

Associate refers to a secessionist group.  Try this for a good introduction to all the mad fragmentation.
