Hi
I have quite a few Galbraiths (or Galbreath) in my tree but mine are all from Argyllshire, namely Parish of Glassary near Lochgilphead. I don't know if that is any use?

Hi there,
Yes Donald Galbreath and Mary Brown had 5 children that I have found, John Galbraith 1826-1905, Neil 1828, Archibald 1830 Mary 1833 and Isabella 1839. John is related to me as he will be my g/g grandfather. He married a Catherine McAlpine (1824-1875) on 05 Feb 1850 and they had 5 children - Mary 1850, Donald 1852, Isabella (Bella) 1854-1903, Catherine 1856 and Margaret 1861. In the 1861 Census I have John as a Dyke Builder presumably as you say on the Crinan Canal and they were living at Dunadd at the time with Margaret being born 4 days after the census was collected. He died on 28 Jun 1905 age 72 with cause of death listed as cerevral apoplexy (second attack) at 02:40am. He was already a widower and Malcolm Cleaver his grandson was the informant. He died at Drimvore, Parish of Glassary.

If you have any further info I'd be grateful too. Where do you fit into this picture?
