Hi,
Trying to trace any info on Leonard Gamble and family. (Leonard was one of my grandfathers younger brothers).
1. LEONARD GAMBLE (ROBERT, WILLIAM DARLEY, WILLIAM, JOHN, HENRY) was born 25 March 1878 in York.N.Yorks.(St Mary Bishophill Jnr)., and died 30 July 1915 in Workhouse Infirmary,Darlington. He married JESSIE BROOKS 29 October 1904 in Parish Church of St Lawrence,York,Yorks, daughter of WILLIAM BROOKS and MARY FAWBERT. She was born 27 December 1877 in York,Yorks (Bishophill Jr), and died 23 October 1928 in Darlington.
Children of LEONARD GAMBLE and JESSIE BROOKS are:
i. HILDA MARY GAMBLE, b. 03 May 1905, Darlington; d. 21 August 1986, York,Yorks; m. JOHN HERBERT FOWLER, 22 September 1930, York Register Office,York,Yorks; b. 1907, York,Yorks.
ii. JESSIE GAMBLE, b. 03 May 1905, Darlington; d. 16 January 1916, Borough Hospital,Darlington.
iii. LEONARD GAMBLE, b. 21 February 1915, Darlington; d. 24 May 1940, Leers,France; m. MURIEL ?; b. Hackney,London.

Hi Philippa,
Thanks for your reply. The only name I have is that his father was Harry.
Its a long story there is some son's of Hilda Mary & John Herbert in York but they don't want to know.
