Hi Adrian

There are loads of Furmingers of various spellings in Kent in BVRI, but it looks like no-one transcribed the registers for either Folkestone or Cheriton - sorry  Sad

Anywhere else you fancy?  Grin

Is there a burial index for Kent ??

Seem to remember reading something about one, maybe it was an ongoing project...

The NBI has some Kent coverage but it's not that good ............

http://www.ffhs.org.uk/General/Projects/NBIcounties/KEN2.htm

There is also some at http://www.familyhistoryonline.net/index/database/index.shtml (pay per view) which is more or less the same as above

Does that help?

Cas,

Thanks.

Found where I got my info form. The Folkestone FHS is apparently doing all the cemetries in Folkestone.

If it's Cheriton Road, Cemetery (1857 until Hawkinge opened late 1920s) then Shepway District Council (burials department) are usually pretty helpful as their indexes span quite a few years each Smiley

Thats the problem I am not sure which cemetery.

He was living in Cheriton when he died. (Somewhere around where Dormobile used to be or along that road anyway)

I am not sure if the Church by the Post Office in Cheriton has a cemetry, memory seems to say no.

I'll try SDC

Thanks

Hi Adrian

No, All Souls doesn't have graves.  There is the churchyard at St Martins Church in Horn Street or else a civic burial at Cheriton Road opposite Safeways, Hawkinge or Spring Lane in Horn Street (opened 1902).  I hope you have some success with SDC.

Best wishes
